We present Grand Theft Impro & Enemies on October 18th 2016 at the Wheatsheaf in central London. This month’s guests are the fabulous team Impetus and the star-studded duo that is Bald.
Impetus are a house team created by Monkey Toast, one of London’s big improv schools. They are fun, fast and furious and always a favourite at nights such as these.
Bald are a two-handed consisting of GTI’s very own Phil Whelans, and the founder of Monkey Toast David Shore. They have been improvising longer than most of the members of Impetus have lived and one thing that can be said without fear of contradiction: they have more talent than hair.
The evening will be rounded off with a set from Grand Theft Impro herself with guests hand picked from the night’s line up (it’s going to be David Shore). We like to keep some suspense so we won’t announce who until the night (it’s David) and we might even change our minds to throw you off the scent (no we won’t).
It will be a brilliant and varied evening of entertainment and worth the minimal entrance fee – and all in the beautiful surroundings of the Wheatsheaf pub slap bang in the heart of London.
Our advice is to book early and book more tickets than you think you need.
In GTI & Enemies we gather some of the top improvisers from around the world and invite them to be our guests. This month we have an excellent array of guests including Holly Mandel from the US, Ruth Bratt (From the Showstoppers) and Nell Mooney (from the Free Association).
Come and shout some suggestions at us!
The late great Ken Campbell, who has inspired many of those participating in the London Jam, first created this anarchic event at Shakespeare’s Globe in 2005 at the request of Mark Rylance.
In THE KEN CAMPBELL CAPER COMPETITION we will be challenging teams of improvisers to show off their theatrical chops what will be a wild and hilarious evening of entertainment…
It will be the full GTI lineup – Dylan Emery, Phil Whelans and Charlottte Gittins, plus our guest player the amazing David Reed of the Penny Dreadfuls.
We will be in the first heat at 6pm competing with Do Not Adjust Your Stage, who are a brilliantly energetic team whose trademark interlacing narrative shows have been entertaining audiences since 2010.
Then at 7:30pm the second heat will be The Suffrettes vs Bristol Improv Theatre.
The Suffrettes are from Toronto, Canada and are one of the featured groups in this year’s Jam, doing their own show on Thursday (click here for details). They won the Canadian Comedy Award for Best Improv Troupe two years in a row (2014 & 2015). They are fantastic.
Then at 9:15pm we have the grand final with whoever gets through.

Join Grand Theft Impro and Enemies (a Hoopla Impro night at the Miller) on May 5th from 8pm to 10pm.
We’re very excited about this month’s GTI and enemies because our guests are none other than Lett’s Vegas, a brilliant two-person show starring The Showstoppers’ Ruth Bratt and Justin Brett. In it, two once-famous crooners, Ruth Letts and Les Vegas, sing their favourite old hits, as suggested by members of the studio audience. It is as anarchic as it is skillful and is a delight to watch.
Our second guests are the brilliant Racing Minds, who have been packing out shows for years with their eccentric characters and alarmingly fast wit.
And, as ever, the second half will be Grand Theft’s signature show Ten Titles, featuring as guests the self-same Ruth Bratt and Justin Brett.
Bring it on!

On 13th October we have two fabulous guests – The RH Experience will be storming the first half with their brand of silly brilliance; then in the second half of the show, veteran improviser, actor and writer David Reed will be joining Charlotte, Dylan and Phil for Grand Theft Impro’s Ten Titles.
The evening will be so packed full you’ll be embarrassed to pay as little as £6. But that is a strict limit I’m afraid. You can offer us drinks instead if that makes you feel better.

Hope to see you there!
