Our last GTI&E before the Summer/Edinburgh break promises to be a belter. Our special Enemies tonight are the fabulous Steve Steen and friends with Steve’s show…

THE ACTOR’S NIGHTMARE

Steve Steen’s Actor’s Nightmare has had a home at the Hoopla Impro Theatre for a couple of years now. The cast could include Stephen Frost, Lee Simpson, Ruth Bratt, Sally Hodgkiss, Lauren Shearing, Jinni Lyons, Jennifer Jordan, Susan Harrison and Niall Ashdown. Or indeed all of them. The idea is to create a play from nothing. We may make you laugh or cry. A never to be repeated experience

STEVE STEEN

Steve is a legend of British improvisation. His partnership with Jim Sweeney began in 1972 and continued both as a duo and as part of ground-breaking impro team Omelette Broadcasting Co. Jim and Steve were on TV in Thames TV’s CBTV, Channel 4’s Little Armadillos, Rory Bremner’s first show for the BBC and, as Byron and Coleridge, in Blackadder the Third. Steve was in Whose Line is it Anyway? and Have I Got News for You and is a regular Comedy Store Player, Steve Frost’s Impro All-Star and Paul Merton’s Impro Chum.

The cast of both halves is still to be finalised, but in addition to Steve, Phil Whelans and Dylan Emery, we have…

Ruth Bratt – Star of Olivier Award winning West End, Edinburgh Festival, Radio 4 and Broadway smash, Showstopper, award-winning BBC sitcom, People Just Do Nothing, Ricky Gervais’s DerekFast and LooseMongrels, and two series of her own BBC Radio 4 show, Trodd en BrattWell Done You.

Alan Marriott – founder of Grand Theft Impro, Alan is a voice-over… well, I’ll say it… maestro; credits include Bob the Builder, Vampires, Pirates and Aliens, Anthony Ant, Lego Nexo Knights, Lego Star Wars and My Little PonyAlan is currently the voice of Grand Sensei Dareth in Lego NinjagoHe was in The Reduced Shakespeare Company, brought Theatresports  to London and devised or co-devised Hamlet Improvised, The Impro Musical, Impropera and Will Shakespeare’s Impro Musical.
