After a terrific January show and our set at Hoopla last Saturday, the second Grand Theft Impro and Enemies promises to be… well, I won’t jinx it, but… THE GREATEST IMPROVISATION SHOW EVER. Oh dear, that seems a bit rash, I… (OPENS UMBRELLA INDOORS) Ah; shouldn’t have done that. Anyway… (ACCIDENTALLY TYPES WORD, “MACBETH”)… Oh, come on… etc. etc.

Our Enemies this month are…

Rhinoceros

Collectively, Rhinoceros are an FA trained longform impro outfit. Individually, they are: Philippa Peacock  Christiaan Hendrickson, Heather Johnson, David Lemkin, Holly Meechan, Andy Miller, & Ben Pearson. In pairs, we don’t know what they are. Like their namesake, they are large, magnificent and endangered.

Then Grand Theft Impro will comprise…

Amy Cooke-Hodgson‘s most recent roles include; Sgt Woods in Girlfriends at the Union Theatre, Sharon Osbourne on Alan Carr’s Xmas SpecstacularSing-A-Long ‘Frozen’ at the Royal Albert Hall and Ida in the award-winning musical, Honk!  Amy is currently on US TV in the University of Phoenix commercial.  Amy was with the Oxford Imps, has performed with Showstopper! The Improvised Musical and is a founder member of impro behemoth, Austentatious.

Michael Orton-Toliver co-created and wrote the TV sitcom Borderline (Channel 5) and The Literary Adventures of Mr. Brown (BBC Radio 4.) He was co-director of the Free Association and formerly Head Corporate writer for the world-famous comedy troupe Boom Chicago, Amsterdam. Previously, Michael wrote for two seasons on Comedy Central News (NL), and he has written and performed in thousands of shows for Boom Chicago Amsterdam, Second City out of Chicago, and Ultimate Improv in Los Angeles.

Sally Hodgkiss studied with IO, UCB, and the Annoyance amongst others. Theatre credits include: Sparks (Old Red Lion), The Funfair (HOME), Hobson’s Choice (Sheffield Crucible), The Queen of the North (Bolton Octagon), Plain Jane (Manchester Royal Exchange), A Wondrous Place (Manchester Royal Exchange/Sheffield Crucible), Dinosaur (The Arcola), Northern Spirit (Northern Stage). Film credits include: The Black Dog, Speechless. Improv credits include: The Science of Living Things, Catch 23 and The Playground.

Phil Whelans – writer and performer of his own Radio 4 sitcom, My First Planet, founder member of Pros from Dover – with whom he did two series of Radio 4’s The Infinite Monkey Cage. Phil has worked with everyone from Joan Rivers to Basil Brush, Al Gore to Brian Conley, Robin Williams to Giles Brandreth.  Phil has been in It’s Kevin, Brasseye, Preston Front and a number of unsuccessful radio and TV impro pilots. He has appeared in Showstopper: the Improvised Musical and is a Monkey Toast player.

Playing piano all night will be the frankly too talented Jordan Clarke.
