it’s our penultimate show of the season and it’s a doozy – not one but two members of the fabulous improv musical troupe The Showstoppers will be joining us for an evening of sketches and (doubtless) songs.
Ruth is one of the founder members of Showstopper! The Improvised Musical. She is also a third of Panther Cannon and half of Ghost Couple. She wrote and starred in BBC Radio 4 series Trodd en Bratt Well Done You, as well as appearing on TV in People Just Do Nothing, Mongrels, Fast and Loose, Vic Reeves’ Ministry of Curious Stuff, Ricky Gervais’s Derek and a million other things. She’s a proper star of the impro scene and she’s great.
Phil Pellew is one of the true veterans of the scene. He has been improvising almost as long as he’s been damaging scenery and actors with his uniquely kinetic style of impro. As well as being a member of Showstopper, he is a fight choreographer, a physical theatre performer and a gourmand. He’s also something like 50th in line to the throne so come and ask him for a knighthood.
