Monkey Toast are proud to be hosting a monthly night of improvised comedy at Omnibus.
This month along with our regular sets from the Monkey Toast Players and Harold teams, we’re pleased to welcome special guests, Grand Theft Impro!
GTI is a improvised sketch comedy troupe made up of Dylan Emery, Phil Whelans and Charlotte Gittins. Tonight, Phil Whelans will be joined by special guests Marcus Brigstocke, Suki Webster and Breandan Murphy!
Marcus Brigstocke is probably on the wireless right now in The Brig Society. Other radio includes The Now Show, The Museum of Everything and Giles Wemmbley-Hogg Goes Off. TV includes Have I Got News For You, Live at the Apollo, The Late Show, and Mock the Week. Impro includes Totally Looped, The Comedy Store Players and the Beau Zeaux.
Suki Webster is a member of The Comedy Store Players, and Paul Merton’s Impro Chums. She’s Eddie Izzard’s co-conspirator in Impro M.D. and One-Word Improv, and Ross Noble’s for his run of shows at the Cutty Sark.
Phil Whelans – writer and performer of his own Radio 4 sitcom, My First Planet, founder member of Pros from Dover – with whom he did two series of Radio 4’s The Infinite Monkey Cage. Phil has worked with everyone from Joan Rivers to Basil Brush, Al Gore to Brian Conley, Robin Williams to Giles Brandreth. Phil has been in It’s Kevin, Brasseye, Preston Front and a number of unsuccessful radio and TV impro pilots. He has appeared in Showstopper: the Improvised Musical and is a Monkey Toast player.
Brendan Murphy. As co-founder of the one-hour plays, he’s toured all over the UK including Edinburgh, Latitude, Bestival, End of the Road and London Zoo’s Zoo Lates. Co-writer/performer on BBC Online Comedy Feed, Jenny Bede: AAA. Performs with Bad Physics (Manchester Royal Exchange, Lyric Hammersmith.) Member of impro groups, The Bishop, The Beau Zeaux and BattleActs.
