Paul Foxcroft is a UK cast member of Monkey Toast and twoprov smash Cariad and Paul, in which he portrays the character “Cariad.” His recent TV appearances include E4’s Drifters and a surprising number of zombie portrayals. Paul has written and performed in several sketch shows, including 2012 Fringe sellout Ladies and Gentlemen. He has also survived numerous improvathons all over the world, from the Bristol Old Vic to Edmonton’s 52-hour Soapathon.
Brendan Murphy: as co-founder of The One-Hour Plays, he’s toured all over the UK, including Edinburgh, Latitude, Bestival, End of the Road and London Zoo’s Zoo Lates. His début solo show, BAGMAN, was one of only nine selected for the Pleasance’s free comedy line-up in Edinburgh this year. Brendan also performs with Bad Physics (Manchester Royal Exchange, Lyric Hammersmith) and is a member of impro groups The Bishop, The Beau Zeaux and BattleActs.
Lauren Shearing has done stand-up, cabaret, sketch comedy… you name it. As long as those three things are what you name. A Monkey Toast Player, Lauren is also one half (or oneprov) of two-person improv show (or twoprov) Breaking & Entering. She has also appeared in Newsrevue, ITV’s Comedy Cuts and interactive kids shows for CBBC.
Come and witness the fascinating meeting of styles as Paul, who was schooled in the I.O. Chicago Longform style, stands on a chair in every scene and hisses his dialogue like a snake, Brendan, who trained with Second City, sets fire to himself, and Lauren, who’s studied Keith Johnstone, impersonates a happy moose. These techniques can all be learnt.
